There’s no bigger joy than expecting a baby to come into a couple’s life. But, alongside the anticipation and excitement, is also the heavy preparations to be done before its arrival.
Our client, Karen Yeung, was expecting her second child and reached out to us to help reorganise her home to better fit her growing family. From creating a functional nursery to transforming her first daughter’s room, this home organisation project was all about comfort, accessibility, and long-term planning.
Storage room and Dove’s room, required a lot of organising and sorting magic but managed to find suitable space for all the clutter.

Growing families bring new needs. Beyond allocating rooms, there’s the challenge of organising each family member’s belongings so everyone can feel comfortable and at ease in their own space. For an expecting mother, this can be overwhelming but that’s where professional home organisers come in.
Fortunately, Karen and her family had enough space to work with. For this home makeover, we personalize and organise their first daughter’s room and turn a storage room into a nursery fit for their upcoming baby.
A Room Makeover Fit for a Princess

Here’s the story: Dove had always avoided sleeping in her own room, preferring instead to sleep on the couch. Once we saw the room, it was easy to understand why. While she had a double-deck bed, the surrounding space had become a catch-all storage area for toys and personal items.
The clutter around might’ve been distracting her to sleep soundly. This is a crucial age for her to enjoy her own space and learn how to manage it on her own. This room makeover needed to strike a balance between functionality and child-friendly design.
We started with updating the room with a fixed bunk bed that had its own closet and drawers underneath. This gave her enough room to store her belongings and accessibility for her to manage on her own. We also made sure pink motifs were around the room to have an identity for her and be enticing to stay in.
Most importantly, the bunk bed provided clear separation between sleep and storage. When Dove is in bed, her belongings are neatly tucked away beneath her out of sight and no longer a distraction.

Dove was ecstatic about the room change and it was a joy for us to hear how hands-on she is on organising her own room. It’s come to a point that she’s telling her mom to stop rearranging her items, no problem for Karen, one less room to be worried about!
Making Room for Your Baby, Literally
When we first arrived, there was no designated nursery. However, the family did have a storage room with great potential. As professional home organisers, we know that any space can be transformed with the right planning.
We removed, decluttered, and found proper places for all the items in storage and started the room makeover from scratch.

Picking up from Dove’s room, we brought in a similar bunk bed with drawer space underneath. Instead of full-on cabinets and drawers, we put nursing tables and a chair so the mother and baby has room to stay in.
All necessities are also easily within reach, clothes tucked on drawers by the side and a changing cart with diapers, tissue, and cleaning materials below. Karen can easily sit down and tend to her baby without needing to walk around to get what she needs.

The room turned out cozy and practical with enough flexibility to turn into a child’s room in the future. Less worrying of how to organise the room once she can sleep on her own and more time for the parents to enjoy the present while she’s growing up.
Finding Space You Never Thought You Had
Both Karen and her husband, Leo, were very hands-on throughout the makeover process, and we’re happy to say the results exceeded expectations. Even months later, the family continues to enjoy the relief and functionality the changes brought.
Since the baby’s arrival, the newly organised rooms have been a blessing during those hectic first weeks. As the holidays approach, we hope the comfort these spaces provide continues to support their growing family.
